CytoViva’s products enhance optical microscopy performance by…

  • Improving optical resolution and detection*
  • Enabling fluorescent and non-fluorescent features to be viewed simultaneously and in real time

CytoViva’s unique optical illumination system replaces the standard microscope condenser and serves to optimize optical resolution and detection. It allows scientists to observe a wide range of nano-materials quickly and easily. In addition, live cells and bacteria can also be viewed at a level of detail not possible with traditional optical imaging techniques.

By incorporating the CytoViva Dual Mode Fluorescence system, researchers can observe the interactions between fluorescently labeled nano-particles or bacteria and live unlabeled cells. This unique capability can eliminate the need to create computer enhanced overlay images, which require two different illumination methods and advanced software programs.

CytoViva was invented by Dr. Vitaly Vodyanoy of Auburn University to optically image live organisms and nanoparticles used in a variety of biomedical applications. This system served as the impetus for forming Aetos Technologies, Inc. the company which incubated and launched the product.
